Enabling a disabled site
Dec 15 2009, 11:14 AM EST
I am trying to enable an Ozone site that was disabled for the offseason and I can't seem to get it to work. I first tried to do it by going to Server Config and enabling the site thinking this would make it available but it didn't. I then tried to add a new logger but the communication route for the site I want to add isn't available. The Site configuration screen seems to be where you could add it from scratch but then I would have to add in the instruments. Just wondering if anyone has overcome this issue other than to enable all of your sites prior to copying files from EDAS and then converting and re-disabling them. THANKS!!

You should be able to go to Configuration->Site Parameter, double-click on the site, and re-enable the site (to appear in the report and editor selections). To add it to the polling schedule, you would need to add it back to a polling task in the Task Scheduler.

Steve,This is what I thought the process should be but the site isn't even listed in Configuration->Site Parameter but the communication route is listed in server configuration. I enabled the comm route which I thought may make the site available but it didn't work this way. I am going to try to import again and see if it was just an import error. I will keep you posted. Are you using the latest version (1.0.2)?

Good afternoon Steve,Thought I would keep going with the WIKI. I was able to get all of our sites to show up when I did a new import on V1.0.2 and imported all of 2009. I was originally working with a smaller data set for testing and i am guessing that you have some logic in the import to disregard sites that may no longer be active and thus I had some sites that I hadn't imported any data from and thus they didn't show up in the list. Obviously I have made an assumption here though. I believe I am all set now but I will try to keep active on the WIKI as I notice anything else. Thanks for the follow up!! Per our follow-up, the issue was that the data was initially converted with non-ozone season data. Because the E-DAS Data Converter utility starts with the data and only converts configuration for which data exists (to eliminate old "junk" sites/parms), you didn't get the ozone site info. But, if you run the Converter for another time period during the ozone season, it will add those sites in for you, no problem.
