The backup/restore procedures won't work between PC's. The SQL server error message is that the backup database set holds the backup of a different database than the current (that would be my new) AVDATA database.
So how do we move AirVision to a new PC? Maybe I will delete the current (new / empty) database and see if that will work.
Thanks, Ben

We have a Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) calling for us to maintain a "hot backup" of AirVision on a different computer stored at another location. It seems that a couple times a year we will have to create an external backup of our active AirVision system and duplicate it on the backup system (and then of course test the latter to verify that it runs as it should). Maybe in fact we should copy _every_ system backup to the COOP computer.) I would welcome a streamlined SOP for this activity if you or another user already has such.
This didn't matter to us very much before now, because we continued using E-DAS as our primary data acquisition system until just last month, when this year's ozone season opened. We must be almost the last Agilaire customer to give up E-DAS.

I am trying to get current sample data into AirVision. I need assistance if anyone has any spare time or any instruction sheets typed up they wouldn't mind sharing. We have tried using the Direct Poll device that we purchashed to poll from our instruments. That was not successful, and I am pretty sure we fried a 2025. Now I am just trying to get things such as Filter number, runday, temp, pressure etc. into AirVision. Is there anyone out there that is entering such data into the sample data fields in AirVision? If there is I would appreciate some input.

Just signed up with The AirVision Wiki so I don't know if you got an answer from Agilaire between now and when you posted your discussion topic. I have been putting PM sample data into Airvision for our NCore site like concentration, runday, temp, pressure, etc. for our designated and collocated PM 2.5 filters and PM10 in local and standard conditions as well as coarse 10-2.5. Let me know if you need some guidance on how to set up the templates or input the PM sample data. It isn't as straightforward as one might think.

AirVision as far as I can tell does not have a proper "unit" of Wind Direction. The only thing I see that might serve is "DEG", but this seems to be confusingly defined as a temperature with an unspecified scale. (Unfortunately, in NC we have gone along and tended to _use_ DEG as the unit of wind direction degrees.)
The corresponding EPA unit is {Unit=014, Description=Degrees Compass} [I would have preferred "Azimuth" for this description, but it's perfectly clear as it is.]

Based on release notes If issues and new features in version upgrades do not directly assist in how the product is used can an upgrade be skipped and upon the next release will it be cumlative? Also, what level of Ambient support is provided if support services are requested on an older version?

Good question- yes all of the releases are cumulative, so you can generally jump from one version to another, and the database update utility will figure out exactly what updates need to be applied.
Now, this is true if you are already starting from a 2.2- series version. If you have a 1.X, 2.0, or 2.1 version, the update scripts need to be manually applied first (per the installation instructions). Once you reach 2.2, it's all automated.
Also, after reaching 2.2.65, future updates to the Server will automatically cause the Clients to update on their next login, but this only happens once the Client has been updated to at least 2.2.65.

Hay gang! I am in the process of converting one of our TEOM 1400 unit sites into a serial connection from the old analog connection. Steve, I lost my notes on what I need to do inside the data logger. I remember you said there was a red button I needed to press to reset the thing and then log in to configure channels or something like that. Can you refresh my memory? Thanks in advance!

Anybody else getting an issue with restarting the server on version 2.2.2? Mine fails to completley restart the service. Steve and I think we know whats going on but I was curious if anyone else has had an issue. The AV service stops following a reset request and has to be manually restarted at the server to get AV back up.

RE: BAMs
By: ,
Mar 2 2011, 2:09 PM EST
Bob, Sorry to take so long to answer. Although I'm not intimately familiar with the combo BAMS, the feed for BP comes from the MetOne BP/AT BX-596 Ambient AT/BP Combo Sensor that is typically wired to Channles 6 and 7 on the back of the BAMs. This signal is typically not stored or logged by the BAM its simply used internally to adjust to the various sample condtions. To get external BP logged by the BAMs for collection I jumpered a wire from the sensor BP + input channel to the + side of one of the 6 programmable BAM logging channels on that BAM. Once you know the channel has the BP jumpered to it you simply have to indentify(count) that data point position in the data string output by the BAM and that is your Column # for your file import column mapping. Hope this helps I sent you a PM also.

I'm starting to use the data editor in AirVision. So far, it seems more complex than E-Das. I like how in E-Das, I can view and edit a whole month of data on one screen. In AirVision, I can view the data in this format in the matrix data screen, but it does not appear that data can be edited in this screen? In the Linear Data screen, it would be helpful if every time a data value was edited, it didn't take me back to the beginning of the month. It takes time to find where I left off. Also, can I edit the actual data values? For example, I have an ozone value of -0.001 ppm that needs to be changed to 0. Negative values cannot be uploaded to AQS. Advice?

Absolutely. In the matrix data editor, you can select, drag-select, or shift/ctrl-select cells, and right-click for editing functions.
I will check into the refresh in the data editor. I had not noticed that (I know it will refresh after each 'save', but you don't have to hit save after each individual edit).
For zero values, you can use the filter fields in any of the data editors to filter the data set down to values < 0, and then you can batch-edit the filtered results (changing the value AND applying the qualifier code), making it quick and easy to handle zero data.

"After stopping SQL services, the Conversion software could be uninstalled and reinstalled from disc. The new install from 1.0.2 disc seems to be the same version as shown on this "Converting E-DAS Data" page." The main distinguishing feature between the 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 conversion utility is that the 1.0.2 utility adds the ability to convert Sample data, if I recall correctly.
