Configuring Digital Inputs/OutputsThis is a featured page

Within the properties of each logger, you can define details for the Digital (status) Inputs and the Digital (Control/Relay) Outputs. Click on the "I/O Labels" tab to bring up the inputs/outputs form.

For each input or output, you can set:
  • Name (this is the 20-character label that is downloaded to the 8816 / 8832)
  • Description (long description used by AirVision)
In addition, if you have set up a Modbus Instrument that has its own status inputs or control output, you can map the pseudo (non-physical) input or output of a Model 8832 to the instrument and the point ('coil') within that instrument.

For digital outputs, you may also define whether the output is normally open (default), or normally closed in its inactive state. Alarms, digital event programs, and calibrations are considered putting an output into an active state (not opening or closing them specifically). For example, an output may be defined as normally closed, and would become open when an alarm or digital event program activates that output.
